Midleton students have great local success

In the last few weeks, the Midleton TaeKwon-Do club has knocked out all competition in the recent tournaments held in Little Island and in Blackrock.

The Scion Tournament in Little Island saw the club win eight for eight, as eight students entered and brought back eight trophies between them. They shone in the adult categories particuarly where Thomas and Warren won out the beginners and intermediate sparring categories respectively, and for both it was just their first competition.

One of Midleton's smallest fighters rose to the top in Little Island too, when David got gold in the under 7 sparring section, after winning gold in Carrigaline just two months earlier and winning gold in the National Championships one month before that! - Definitely a good sign to a bright future ahead for Midelton TaeKwon-Do.

Rallied by the club's local success in Little Island, more students stepped up to fight for Midleton in the 4th Annual Blackrock Championships, and 20 students brought home an incredible 31 medals. The club's other national champions did not dissappoint as Arnaugh, Verlene and Natalia all took comfortable wins in their sections, and Arnaugh and Verlene's little sister Fiona followed in their sibling's footsteps by winning the under 6 sparring. One student, Liam, even went on to win gold in both sparring and traditional forms, something that is very difficult to do. And once again Midleton took command of the adult beginner and intermediate sections, but this time with two different students winning out, Billy and Brendan taking the gold for Midleton.

Great days were had by all at both tournament and the club is motivated by all its success to acheive even more!
